Amelia is a bubbly girl who loves ballet, swimming, eating pizza (preferably at Pupatella), and her big brother Adam. In 2023, Amelia was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She was admitted to the hospital numerous times for fevers, neutropenia, and chemotherapy infusions, and was in the hospital for a period of over 6 weeks due to the toll chemotherapy took on her immune system. Amelia has had to spend Halloween, Thanksgiving, and birthdays at the hospital, but her mother states that Amelia believes that the hospital is fun. Amelia’s mom credits the volunteers, art and music therapists, Child Life specialists, and nurses for this. Amelia brings energy, warmth, and aggressive love to every clinic visit.

Her mother is grateful for the incredible support system they have had through this journey. Amelia and her family got involved with JUST TRYAN IT to make sure that other families facing pediatric cancer can have the same experience and support they did. Amelia’s brother has raced in Bethesda and Amelia was the Face of the Race at the 2026 Frozen Feet 5K.
