Saige

October 2025

“My daughter, Saige, was first diagnosed in June 2022 with diffuse midline glioma. During surgery, she suffered a skull fracture and developed left-sided paralysis. She had a VP shunt placed due to hydrocephalus, and then needed a shunt revision in 2024. This past April 2025, we received the heartbreaking news that Saige now has additional diffuse midline gliomas located near the cerebellum. This shows for over 3 years over lives revolve around hospital visits and therapy appointments.

“Despite all she has endured, Saige continues to radiate strength, grace, and joy. Before her diagnosis, she loved dancing, and though her body has changed, her spirit hasn’t. She still dances with her heart — every smile, every laugh, every small victory is its own dance of courage. One of her greatest joys is riding her horse, Louie, which has become a cherished part of her therapy. When she’s with Louie, she’s free — it’s as if all the pain and hospital days fade away, and what remains is the fearless little girl we’ve always known.

“Saige’s journey has been filled with challenges, but it’s also been filled with hope. She has taught us that strength isn’t measured by what you can do, but by how you keep going when things seem impossible. Her light continues to shine through every obstacle, reminding us — and everyone who meets her — that even in the darkest moments, there is still beauty, courage, and love.”
