Xanai

Xanai is a charismatic, social butterfly. She loves music, cats, joking around, and her infamous British/Australian accent. In March 2024, a routine dental cleaning revealed a lump in Xanai’s mouth. A few weeks later, a biopsy revealed that Xanai had chondroblastic osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. This diagnosis is difficult for Xanai and her family, especially because she cannot physically attend school – a place she loves. Xanai is very close to her sister, who has kept her motivated in her fight. Xanai’s family leans on their family spiritually and physically.  She keeps her spirits up though it all and encourages others while receiving chemotherapy at UNC Cancer Hospital.

Her surgery was successful and there were no signs of malignancy. She completed treatment and “rang the bell” last year. Xanai was the 2025 Face of the Race in Chapel Hill. She and her family attended the race and shared some inspiring videos with us.  Click here to hear from Xanai’s family.
