JUST TRYAN IT does not provide direct grants to individuals. Families must be in treatment at one of our seven partner hospitals and they must apply through their social worker.
Meet JoJo
A joyful spirit, a fierce fighter, and an inspiration to our community.
JoJo’s smile is the first thing people notice about him. Despite being diagnosed with neuroblastoma as a toddler, he radiates joy, energy, and love.

Animals make him especially happy, and his family says he never misses a chance to make a new friend. When music plays, JoJo is the first one dancing—his favorite hobby and one of the purest reflections of his resilient spirit.
JUST TRYAN IT has been honored to support JoJo and his family through emergency grants that have helped with essential needs, including housing and transportation. These supports allow his parents to focus on what matters most: caring for JoJo and standing beside him throughout his treatment.
JoJo’s cancer journey has been long and challenging, marked by multiple relapses and ongoing treatments. Still, his determination never wavers. He continues to meet every obstacle with courage, strength, and the same bright smile that inspires everyone around him.
His family describes him as an “outdoor kid” who loves animals, adventure, and being surrounded by people who care about him. And through every step of this difficult journey, JoJo’s perseverance keeps his family going.
“We have been fighting for a long time, and as exhausting as it can be, we keep going because JoJo is amazing and he keeps us going.”
— JoJo’s mom, Kimberly
JoJo embodies the heart of the JUST TRYAN IT mission: hope, resilience, and the power of community support. His story reminds us why our work matters—and why we continue to stand with families facing childhood cancer.
