Ken Caputo Award Winner: Darius Hill, Enterprise Mobility Team

Bethesda Kids Triathlon
Thank you to all of the racers, volunteers, families, sponsors and donors for making the 2025 Bethesda Kids Triathlon a HUGE success: your hard work and generosity helped us raise $247,500 in support of families fighting childhood cancer. Both volunteer and racer fundraising pages will close October 14, so you still have time to make a donation and get us to our $250,000 goal!
KEN CAPUTO AWARD WINNER:
Darius Hill, Enterprise Mobility Team
Each year, we seek out recommendations for the Ken Caputo Award from our Volunteer Captains. Ken Caputo was a cherished volunteer known for his early arrivals, warm welcomes, and tireless support. He brought joy and inspiration to everyone with his enthusiasm and big heart. This year we proudly present the Ken Caputo Award to Darius Hill, an Enterprise Mobility employee. Darius was a beacon of encouragement at the challenging bike start. His cheers and support lifted the spirits of our racers, making race day unforgettable. Thank you, Darius, for embodying the spirit of Ken Caputo and making a difference in our community.
The following individuals were nominated for the Ken Caputo Award:
- Sean Botti, Finish Line – Sean served as a resource for new volunteers, cheered each and every finisher, and also volunteered for Packet Pickup on Saturday.
- Sadie Thorpe & Sadie Povinelli, Volunteer Check In/In Pool – Sadie & Sadie assisted with Volunteer Check-In on Saturday and early Sunday morning. Both girls spent the race n the pool assisting swimmers.
- Michele Leanderson, Run Course – Michele jumped in when she saw a need for an extra volunteer on the last big hill on the run course, approaching Prindle Field. She ran up and down the hill with energy and enthusiasm for each racer.
Thank you Sean, Sadie, Sadie and Michele, and ALL the volunteers who make RACE DAY the BEST DAY.
Do The Right Thing Award:
Andy S.
The Do The Right Thing Award is given to a racer “caught in the act of kindness” during the race – generally a racer who puts their own race aside to help/support a fellow racer. When Andy was coming up the last hill on the run course, he saw his friend Max in need of some encouragement. Andy took Max’s hand, shared a “you can do this” and ran hand-in-hand with him right to the finish – where they “backed in” to the finish line together. Thank you, Andy, for your kindness, enthusiasm and friendship.

THANK YOU 2025 SPONSORS
